The Minnesota NHL Alumni Association distributes college scholarships annually to deserving high school applicants. Awards are determined from a candidate’s level of community involvement plus a combination of athletic and academic achievements. Recipients receive $1,000.00 annually for four years.

In December of each year, a recommendation form is sent to high school coaches in the State of Minnesota. The coaches are asked to identify an outstanding individual whom they feel is worthy of this prestigious award. Once all of the forms are gathered, a selection committee from the MN NHL Alumni Association and selected outside individuals review all of the candidates and then select the recipients.

Thank you to all of the High School coaches who took the time to submit player recommendations each year. For those coaches who did not submit a recommendation by the deadline, we can only ask you to please make the time for this prestigious award by sending in your recommendation. The players really deserve it!
